Giving back to the community
At Quick Shear Inc., we’re all about big love for small rural communities! As a not-for-profit, our mission is to roll up our sleeves and bring the resources and opportunities that help these hidden gems sparkle. Because small towns deserve big dreams—and we’re here to help make them happen!
Shearers Showdown 2024 was a huge success. We were overwhelmed by the support we received and were stoked with the following contributions to the community:
$7,420 went straight to Bigga Public School P&C.
A Calcutta auction of the top eight shearers raised $2,655 for Crookwell Meals on Wheels.
Bigga Progress Association snagged $2,500.
Bigga RFS didn’t just fight fires, they ignited fundraising efforts, collecting $1,287 at the gate.
$1,000 to the Crookwell Community Men’s Shed, which is open to both men and women
$500 to The Man Walk Australia - Crookwell Branch encouraging connection and mental well-being.
Bigga Public school
What an incredible way to mark 140 years of shaping bright, young minds! Congratulations, Bigga Public School, on reaching this amazing milestone. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with some shiny new sporting gear! Whether it’s kicking goals, shooting hoops, or just running wild on the field, we hope your students have an absolute blast. Here’s to another 140 years of fun, learning, and epic sports moments!
Kerrie Picker, President of the Bigga Progress Association, expressed her gratitude to Quick Shear Inc. for their support: “We are incredibly thankful to Quick Shear Inc. for giving us the chance to be part of such a wonderful community event. Their generous donation of $2,500, along with the funds we raised, will help us build a much-needed shelter shed at the Bigga Recreational Area. This will provide a space for locals and visitors to gather, rain or shine. We’re also grateful for the Quick Shear Inc team’s guidance throughout the event planning process and their volunteers’ dedication to supporting small communities like ours.”
